Becoming an author isn’t about fame or who you know or even having a Creative Writing degree from an Ivy League college. It’s about writing stories and sharing them with people, whether they’re friends, family, or random people across the globe. 

Start with an idea and build it from there. You may want to write a thriller, a fantasy, a memoir, or even a How-To book. The key is to take the ideas you have and write them down. You can write by hand on paper or type using a word processor. Many famous authors ( J.K. Rowling, Quentin Tarantino, Mary Higgins Clark, etc.) start their drafts in longhand and then finish the project on a computer. But the media of writing is fully up to you.
