When ordering author copies you can order up to 999 per order, when ordering proof copies you can order up to 5 copies per order. You will see the available shipping options based on your location during checkout. Amazon Prime does not qualify for proof and author order copies.
Your book can be in draft or live status for you to order proof copies, but you need to at least approve the book in Print Preview first before ordering it as a draft version.
After submitting your proof request, you'll get an email with a link to finish your transaction within four hours. When you get this email, click the Proceed to Shopping Cart button to finish the transaction. The proof copies will be taken out of your cart if you don't finish your purchase within 24 hours of getting the email.
When your book is in Live status or Live with unpublished changes, you can place orders for author copies. The option to order copies won’t appear if your book is in any other status. If you have recently updated your book and want to order the most recent version of it, make sure you have clicked the Publish button after submitting your manuscript, and that the status of your book is Live.
It will depend on your print options you’ve selected for your book which will determine the print cost. You will pay the author price, which is the lowest price Amazon can offer for your book. You can calculate the author price by multiplying the print cost for your book in your selected marketplace multiplied by the number of copies ordered. For estimated printing costs, you can use their calculator.
If you have errors ordering to a specific destination/ region then you need to change the marketplace in which to order it from.

You might occasionally have browser-related problems when obtaining author copies. Try removing your cookies and cleaning your cache. Check your browser's help files for instructions on clearing cache and deleting cookies.
If you have items missing from your cart or your cart is empty, this could be that you weren’t signed in when adding items to your cart. Or were signed in then signed out making your items vanish. All you need to do is sign back in. If your cart is still empty or missing items this could be that you need to go to the correct marketplace site where you are ordering your author copies from and checkout from there.
You may not see an option to order your author copy on your Bookshelf. This is because your book needs to go live first, once it is live you will be able to order author copies within 24hrs.
After placing your order on Amazon, if the quantity that appears in your cart is incorrect, go there and alter the quantity to the number of author copies you desire. A maximum of 999 items may be purchased per order. You cannot change the quantity on your KDP Bookshelf.
You should contact Amazon within 30 days of receiving the damaged copy to be eligible for a refund. This could be printing errors like shifted text or images being cut off. There are some issues Amazon KDP won’t consider as being defects if it falls within expected printing variances.
When contacting Amazon you should include images of the issue, Product ID (number under barcode), ASIN/ISBN of your book using the attachment option in their contact form.
If it has been 3 days or more since the estimated delivery date, Amazon will consider the proof or author copies to be late or lost in transit. If this is the case, contact Amazon within 30 days to be eligible for a refund. If it is delivered but you never actually received the package, it could have been dropped off at the wrong location and you cannot locate it, you can still request a refund within 30 days.
